Once you have your vocals or writing abilities down, get your work to the public! Post videos on YouTube, show up at open mic nights, and give a demo out at the entrance to concerts. Write songs for a local band or help a theater with the production of a musical. The more people who have your music in their hands, the more recognition you get for your talent. Recognition leads to offers for work, and more work gets you one step closer to “making it” as a full-time musician.
